Only 50% of Women With PCOS Are Diagnosed

PCOS is commonly misdiagnosed with over 20% of women suffering worldwide. The Rotterdam criteria is what doctors use to diagnose patients with PCOS. In order to be diagnosed, a woman has to have 2 out of the 3 manifestations of PCOS.
This consists of...
1. Elevated androgens
2. Irregular or absent periods
3. Enlarged ovaries
But did you know women with PCOS may only have 1 of these 3? (like me!) And therefore go undiagnosed!
Women with PCOS can also have nutrient deficiencies such as magnesium, zinc, B12, and vitamin D?
In fact women with PCOS are 19 times more likely to be magnesium deficient and 1 in 4 women with PCOS are vitamin D deficient.
While these are all symptoms of PCOS, the main root causes are insulin resistance and inflammation. Both of which cannot be fixed by the common PCOS treatment which is birth control and metformin.
While some have had success using these methods, they ultimately do not get to the root of the issue long term.
